What to expect
Our session will be exciting , relaxed and fun. My goal is to capture the little things that make up your lives. Times like these go by so fast.
I want to make sure we work together to capture moments and create timeless artwork.
I’m sure you have quite a few questions about how to best prepare for your session, here are some useful tips and ways to make your session perfect.
Location and Session time
I offer many outdoor locations are Charleston area. Including wooded areas, Ponds, Bridges, as urban downtown Charleston locations. there a so many unique backdrops to our area.
I am a natural light photographer, for outdoor session is like to shoot at the Golden hour which is about 1-2 hours before sun set. That is when the sun creates that rich golden glow that makes for beautiful artwork.
What To Wear
I feel your outfits make the session. I can create some truly beautiful l images, but only with your help. If we can put together a great wardrobe collection it will set the mood and over all look of your images. These images will be what you look back on when your babies are grown and having their own babies. They will be your artwork on your walls. Your passport back in time.
• we can coordinate your outfits by color and style. No need to be super matching. we can choose colors that complement each other and works best for the stage of the season. By choosing similar colors and tones in the same family along with texture can bring your personality to your shoot. You can all wear a warm or cool color palate. I always lay out all of your outfits and see if they look nice together. Match your color to the season or to the location. Fall colors - Warm tones, Red, Brown, Orange, Purple. Spring- Blues, Yellows, Soft pinks etc. Please don't forget to wear accessories like scarves, headbands, hats, etc. to add your personal touch to your images. Please stay away from NEON, shirts with logos, white shirts and jeans. They just do not photograph well and don't give that upscale classic artwork feel.
Babes & Children
Before the shoot: Start with nice soapy bath. Get those sweet faces clean, Brush and styled hair, brush them pearly white. Avoid colorful candy, drinks, snacks that may stain their teeth, mouth and faces. Please make sure they get a good nap in. Avoid planning to much in your day before the shoot. Tired kiddos tend to be cranky and want nothing to do with the session. Which leads to crying and limit the wonderful images I can get for your session. Also make sure they have a good meal before the session. You can bring an incentive treat during shoot is a GREAT tool. Fruit snack for is perfect. They are small, can eat quickly in between shots and do not stain their face or clothes.
There is no doubt about it kids run the show. I have 3 children and have worked with tons of kids over the years. Please, do not feel embarrassed if they cry or just need a moment to themselves. We will work around how they are doing during the session. Patience is key to a great shoot. If a child sees you are stressed, they will pick up on it and can make them stress and can get upset as well. If they need a moment, we can let them walk around, play and explore around the location. We want happy kids having a great time at the session.
Pregnancy Session
I offer a few types of Pregnancy sessions. The Traditional shoot- Family shoot at an outdoor location. Pregnancy Milk Bath - Done in my home spa tub with a wonderful warm bath with flowers. Glamorous Maternity - A beautiful Gown, flower crown at a lovely outdoor shoot. flowy long skirts, solid colors are lovely. Tube dresses are great for showing off your shape of your sweet belly.
